Your Kinesiologist - Megan McIntyre

Megan McIntyre, Burwood NeuroEnergetic Kinesiologist

Megan's Story

I am a mother of two boys living and working in Burwood, Victoria.

My passion is working with the local community providing ‘Restored Balance’ in areas of physical pain, anxiety and sleep issues, to name a few. I work with my clients to help them be the best version of themselves and I facilitate positive change when goals are not being achieved or symptoms are persisting.

I was born and raised in Victoria’s beautiful Gippsland Lakes, before moving to Melbourne for a career in the dental industry and as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practice Manager.  Like all new mothers, my life changed when I had my first child in 2007 and two years later we moved to Hong Kong for my husband's career.

I thought that having lived in a busy city like Melbourne for over ten years would have prepared me for life in Hong Kong. However, on arrival my whole family struggled with living away from family and friends, dealing with increased pollution and work/life balance stresses. It was during this time of change that I found NeuroEnergetic Kinesiology to be integral to both my emotional and physical wellbeing.

Why Neuro Energetic Kinesiology

NeuroEnergetic Kinesiology is a modern form of Kinesiology that really targets and identifies the specific issues expressed by the body.

NeuroEnergetic Kinesiology works very specifically with each aspect of the body. Not just the organ or the emotion in question however it looks at the details; the hormones, neurotransmitters, the exact emotion, the joint, the muscle and most specifically the brain area involved.

My family and I found that NeuroEnergetic Kinesiolgy offered tremendous support to our total health, emotionally and physically. I loved the detailed approach and was inspired to make NeuroEnergetic Kinesiology my new career path.

I commenced my training at Kinesiology Asia Institute, widely regarded as one of the best NeuroEnergetic Kinesiology training facilities in the world. While living in Hong Kong, I worked in a busy Chiropractic Clinic, developing and consolidating my skills and experience with a variety of clients across different cultures and age groups from babies to the elderly.

In August 2017, our family returned to Melbourne, Australia and I launched Restored Balance, a NeuroEnergetic Kinesiology clinic in Burwood. My areas of special interest are chronic physical pain, perimenopausal symptoms,  with a particular focus on childhood/teen anxiety.

In 2019 I commenced working at Being Well Clinic In Camberwell. I primarily assist the psychologists, working collaboratively with mental health in young adults and teenagers. However I continue to work with mothers and children with behavior, pain and hormonal issues as usual.

I am passionate about assisting people in finding natural health through Kinesiology, which give the body and mind better balance while dealing with environmental, nutritional and emotional challenges.I am committed to continually developing my technique, adding more tools to my practice to bring the latest that the industry has to offer.

Away from the Clinic

I love to spend time in the outdoors, especially in the warmer weather. I love camping and hiking with my family, and being amongst nature is my happy place. I can’t always get to a national park, and so the next best thing for me is to kick off my shoes and barefoot garden- yes that’s a thing!

I am also team manager of my son’s basketball team and spend most weekends cheering from the sidelines!

I also serve on two Management committees;

CleftPALS (Victoria). A not for profit organisation helping families with children born with a Cleft lip and/or Palate.

Australian Kinesiology Association (AKA). The Peak body  for maintaining high standards of Kinesiology, Australia wide.
